SUBJECT SOCIETIES

There are selectional associations and societies in different subjects which provide scope for intellectual improvement of the students. They are as follows.

8. The Zoology Association
9. The Botany Association
10. The Philosophy Association
11. The Sanskrit Association

1. Objects :
i. To arrange debates, reading of papers, to invite eminent persons to address the members.

ii. To organise seminars for the Honours students.

iii. To conduct surveys and organise study tours.
iv. To undertake such other literary and extra-curricular activities like science exhibition, etc. as are decided upon by the Executive Committee and approved by the Principal.
2. Management :
The management of the affairs of the Society shall be vested in the Executive Committee consisting of.
i. President-principal (ex-officio).
ii. Vice-President-A member of teaching staff nominated by the Principal.
iii. Secretary and Asst. Secretary to be elected from among the student members.
iv. Class Representatives One from each of the classes elected by the students of the classes.

Cultural Week :
The annual functions of the College Union +2 Cultural Association and other associations shall be held in a compact programme spanning for a week or so, sometime in the months of January and February each year. This may be named as `Cultural Week' The detailed programme with date and time shall be decided in a joint meeting of the office bearers presided over by the principal or in his absence his nominee. However, the timing of the cultural week is liable to be shifted keeping in view the examinations schedules.



Science Society

1. Aims
a. To spread scientific knowledge by arranging popular lectures, discussions and exhibitions pertaining to basic sciences.

2. Memberships
a. All Science students shall be the members of the Science Society.
b. Members of the staff of the institution including demonstrators and ministerial staff may become associate members.

3. The management of the Science Society shall be Vested in the Executive Committee consisting of :
i. President - The principal (ex-officio)
ii. Vice-President - Member of the Science staff nominated by the Principal
iii. Secretary - Elected from among the Degree Science students.
iv. Assistant Secretary, Elected from among the +2 1st year Science students.
v. Class Representative - One from each of the Science classes.

Functions of Secretary
a. The Secretary shall be responsible for maintaining the accounts with proper vouchers which should be audited each year.
b. He shall give notice of the meeting of both Executive or General Body and record minutes of the meetings.
c. He shall submit the accounts of the Science Society to the Principal through the Vice-President.

Functions of the Asst. Secretary
The Asst. Secretary shall assist the Secretary in the discharge of his duties. In all matters the decision of the principal shall be binding and final.



Commerce Society

1. Aims
a. To spread the knowledge of commerce by arranging popular lectures, discussions and seminars.
b. To invite eminent teachers, intellectuals and important industrialist and businessmen to deliver lectures.

2. Membership
a. All commerce students shall be the members of the Commerce Society.
b. Members of the staff of the institution may become associate members.


3. The management of the Commerce Society shall be vested in the Executive Committee consisting of
i. President - The principal (ex-officio)
ii. Vice-President-Member of the Commerce Staff nominated by the principal.
iii. Secretary - Elected from among the Degree commerce student.
iv. Asst. Secretary-Elected from among the +2 1st year Commerce students.
v. Class Representatives one from each of the commerce classes.

Arts Socity

1. Aims:

(a) To spread the knowledge of literal arts and social sciences by arranging popular lectures, discussions, seminars and workshop.

(b) To invite eminent teachers, intellectuals and important personage in the field of arts and social science to deliver lectures. 

 

2. Membership:

a. All Arts students shall be the members of the Arts Society.

b. Members of the staff of the institution may become associate members. 

 

3. The management of the Art Society shall be vested in the Executive Committee consisting of:

i. President – The Principal (ex-officio)

ii.  Vice-President – Members of the arts staff nominated by the Principal

iii.Secretary - Elected from among the Degree Arts student.

iv. Asst. Secretary-Elected from among the +2 1st year Arts students.
v. Class Representatives one from each of the commerce classes.

Day Scholars' association (+2 and +3 Stream)

1. All day Scholars of +2 and +3 stream are members of D.S.A. (for +2 students) and D.S.A. (for +3 students) respectively and shall participate in the election.
2. Rules governing students' union election, vacancies in office and removal of office-bearers shall be applicable to this association.
3. The following Executive Committee will manage the affairs of the Asociation :
i) President-Principal (ex-officio)
ii) Censor and Associate Censor - to be nominated by the Principal.
iii) The Secretary and Asst. Secretary to be elected from their respective streams (Degree classes and +2 classes) among themselves of whom the Asst. Secretary from Degree stream and the Asst. Secretary of +2 stream shall be elected from only Pre-Degree and +2 1st year students respectively.
iv) One class representative from each class (Arts, Science and Commerce) to be elected by the day scholars of that class.
4. The Executive committee will draw up the budget estimate for the session and submit to Principal for his approval.
5. All requisitions for money shall be routed through the Censor and all vouchers shall be submitted through him. The =Censor will the Day Scholars' Association for +2 stream.

 

7. The Assistant Secretary shall assume all the rights and duties of the Secretary if the letter ceases to function and is removed from his office as per rules.

8. The decision of the Principal shall be final in all matters relating to the Association.


Students' Common Room

The day-to-day affairs of the Students Common Room will be managed by an Executive Committee consisting of the following.


1. a) President - Principal (Ex-Officio)
b) Vice-President and Associate Vice-Presidents (of whom one should be a lady member of the teaching staff) to be nominated by the Principal.
c) A Secretary and an Assistant Secretary of whom the Assistant Secretary must belong to 1st year or 2nd year class of +3 stream. They shall be elected by all students of +3 stream only according to rules that govern student's union election.
d) One representative from each of the +3 classes (Arts, Science & Commerce) to be elected by the students of the same class.
e) A student of +2 stream and a girl student of the college to be nominated by the Prioncipal if he so likes.
2. The committee shall prepare that budget, arginase indoor games and literary competitions for both +3 and +2 students.
3. The Vice-President shall remain in charge of purchase of indoor games articles and will supervise other expenditures incurred by the Secretary.
4. 10% of the fund is kept reserved for College Development Fund.
5. The assistant Secretary will assume all rights and duties of the Secretary if the latter ceases to function or is removed from his office as per rules.
6. The decision of the Principal is final in all matters relating to the Student's common room.
All Associations & Societies shall contribute 10% of the Collection of an academic session towards the expenditure of the annual election.
