Scholarships and Financial Aids

The following helps and concessions are available to the deserving students under the following schemes.
Central and State Government Schemes a. National Scholarship : Deserving students are (Govt. of India) selected by the Govt.

b. National Loan Scholarship : Awarded only to the students (Govt. of India) who have passed the qualifying First Division. Such students will have to apply in the prescribed application form.

c. Post Matric Stipends for SC/ST students only.
d. Scholarship for the Deaf, Blind and Orthopedically Handicapped students.
e. Scholarship to the children of Primary and Secondary School Teacher.
f. Post Matric Hindi Scholarship.
g. Junior and Senior : Awarded to meritorious College Merit Scholarship students on the basis of marks

h. Junior and Senior Merit : Awarded to the poor and cum-poverty Scholarship Meritorious students

i. Scholarship and help to : Deserving students must apply the children to political in the prescribed application suffers forms.
j. Educational concessions : To be applied in the prescribed to the children and form dependents of Service Personel and Ex-Serviceman.
k. Stipends to the children of dock labour employees.
l. Stipends to the children or iron ore mines employes.
m. Financial Assistance of Rs. 100/- to the first division students on the results of H.S.C. Examination.
Students who pass in first division in H.S.C. final examination securing 71% or more may be awarded the above assistance, provided the total income of the parents does not exceed Rs. 500-per Office. The prescribed forms/format for all the above purpose can be had from the College Office.


Biswajit Debata Memorial Prize
Biswajit Debata Memorial Prize has been instituted by the College Management to perpetuate the memory of Late Biswajit Debata, Lecturer in Mathematics of this College who passed away at a very young age. One thousand and five hundred Rupees (Rs. 1,500/-) has been kept on fixed deposit and the interest acquired out of it shall be awarded to the student of +2 Class who secures highest marks in mathematics in the College Annual Examination.


Nandan Award
Rs. 200/- will be paid to a +2 Science students who secures the highest marks in Annual H.S.C. Examination.
Prof. Satrughna Memorial Prize with fixed Deposit of Rs. 10,000/-. The prize will be awarded out of the interest and will be given to the student of +3 1yr Degree Topper student in Educaiton (Hons).

Scholarships and Financial Aids
The following scholarships and financial aids as (i) assistance are available to the students studying in Maharishi College.
1. National Scholarship :

This is awarded on the basis of overall ranking in the State. In case of +2 students it is sponsored by the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa and in case of +3 students it is sponsored by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa as the Examining Bodies.
2. Junior College Merit Scholarship :

This is awarded to +2 students on the basis of District wise ranking made by the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa. Application Forms for both National Scholarship and Junior Merit Scholarship are sent by the Board to the deserving students who should submit them in the college.
3. Senior College Merit Scholarship :

This is awarded to students of Degree Classes on the basis of overall ranking in the State and is determined by the computerised merit list of C.H.S.E., Orissa on the result of the Annual Examinations. The application forms are sent by the Council to the selected students who should submit them in the College.
4. National Loan Scholarship :

Students securing 50% in their qualifying examinations may apply for this scholarship provided their parents' income does not exceed Rs. 25,000/-.
5. Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students :

Stipends under this scholarship are given to the SC and ST students from the T.R.W. Department, Government of Orissa.
6. Scholarship for the Children of Freedom Fighters :

This scholarship is awarded to the children of Freedom Fighters.
7. Scholarship for the Children :

This scholarship is awarded to the children of primary school teachers, high school teachers
or secondary school whose aggregate marks must be at least 60% in the H.S.C. Examination.
8. National Talent Scholarship :

It is awarded on the basis of a competitive examination.
9. Scholarship for Orthopedically Handicapped Students :

It is awarded to the lame, deaf or orthopedically handicapped students whose age should be 17 to 30 years. The candidate must have secured at least 40% marks in Higher Secondary Certificate Examinations.
10. Full-students :

On the basis of merit-cum-poverty, students of the College are awarded full free-studentship. The number of awards of this free-studentships is to remain within 12.5% of the total students' strength of the College.
11. Aid from the Social Service Guild and Student's Aid Fund :

These aids are given to the poor and meritorious students.
